The New York Giants‘ No. 1 priority heading into the NFL offseason is finding Brian Daboll’s successor at head coach, and the storied franchise will have no shortage of notable candidates that could help turn things around for the team moving forward.
Although two-time NFL Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski was initially the top target for the Giants, things seem to have changed drastically after the Baltimore Ravens chose to part ways with their longtime head coach, John Harbaugh, on Tuesday.

The Ravens sent shockwaves throughout the NFL this week after deciding to fire Harbaugh after the team missed the playoffs due to the loss to the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers in the regular-season finale this past weekend.
With Harbaugh now available and being arguably one of the best head coaches in the NFL today, teams with a head coaching vacancy have taken notice. Teams with an opening at head coach are starting to pivot in hopes of landing Harbaugh, with the Giants being one of those teams, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.
It could be argued that the Giants have the most intriguing head coaching vacancy due to the talented young players currently on the squad and the fact that the team has the No. 5 overall pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
With Jaxson Dart looking like a star in the making, along with other rising stars on the squad like running back Cam Skattebo and wide receiver Malik Nabers, all the Giants might need is the right head coach to lead this team moving forward.
It’ll be interesting to see if Harbaugh is intrigued by the Giants and if the team can secure an interview with the one-time Super Bowl champion.
Cam Skattebo Makes Revealing Comments on Giants

With the Giants set to bring in a new head coach and potentially take a major step toward righting the ship in New York, Skattebo shared his thoughts on the situation after the Week 18 win over the division rival Dallas Cowboys.
“Someone has to come in here and put their foot in the ground,” Skattebo said of the Giants’ coaching search.
Now that Harbaugh has become available, the 64-year-old could become that guy who gets the Giants back on track as a force to be reckoned with in the NFC.
Along with potentially bringing in a massive upgrade at head coach, the Giants need to work on their leadership in the locker room, according to Skattebo.
“The leadership role in the players in the locker room also needs to be improved as well,” Skattebo said.
Although there are things that need to be addressed to get this team firing on all cylinders heading into the 2026 NFL season, Skattebo knows that the quarterback position is set with Dart under center.
“I’m excited to build something here,” Skattebo said. “No matter who is in this building, we have our quarterback.”
If the Giants can bring in Harbaugh and take care of their other issues, the future could be bright in New York.
