The New York Giants have been hard at work to begin the 2026 NFL offseason. While their coaching staff is still coming into focus, the Giants nailed their biggest move to this point, as they hired former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to come in and fill the same position for them.
Considering how New York won only four games in 2025, it may seem like things are not looking up for them, but the opposite is true. With talented young players like Jaxson Dart, Malik Nabers, Abdul Carter, and Cam Skattebo leading the way, there’s reason for optimism surrounding the Giants. And based on Dart and Skattebo’s latest comments, it sounds like they have some big plans for the future.
Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo Make Gutsy Super Bowl Prediction
The Giants surprised folks when they selected Dart with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he flashed his potential frequently as a rookie under center. In 14 games, Dart threw for 2,272 yards and 15 touchdowns, while also rushing for 487 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. He has some things he needs to work on, but that’s what Harbaugh was brought to town for.
Before he suffered a gruesome season-ending injury in Week 8, Skattebo was leading the offense right alongside Dart. In eight games, Skattebo ran for 410 yards and five touchdowns, while also catching 24 passes for 207 yards and two more scores. However, he suffered a dislocated ankle, fibula fracture, and a ruptured deltoid ligament, which put an end to his strong start to the season.
The young core that New York is building is likely one of the main reasons why Harbaugh decided to accept the team’s head coach job. However, there’s still a lot of work left for this group to do, as evidenced by the fact that they won just four games last season. And yet, Dart and Skattebo have their eyes on the Lombardi Trophy, as they made a gutsy declaration ahead of Super Bowl LX.
“We’ll see it soon,” Dart and Skattebo both said of the Lombardi Trophy on “Up & Adams.” “We’ll touch it when we earn it.”
Giants Still Have a Lot of Work to Do This Offseason

GettyGeneral manager Joe Schoen of the New York Giants speaks to the media during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center.
Dart and Skattebo’s ambition is admirable, but it goes without saying that winning championships in the NFL is easier said than done. New York has a strong foundation in place, but it is going to have to make the right moves in order to build off of it. That is why this offseason is still so important for the team.
While general manager Joe Schoen has received his fair share of backlash for his mistakes over the past few years, he’s pushed a lot of the right buttons over the past year or so. He and the rest of the front office will need to keep that momentum going this offseason, or else it will continue to spin the wheels of mediocrity. New York has a lot of things going its way, but an offseason full of critical work has only just gotten underway.
