The Philadelphia Eagles may have a complicated offseason ahead, and a new report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has only intensified the conversation.

Appearing on Get Up this morning, Fowler revealed that several high-level executives around the league believe the Eagles will at least entertain trade offers for A.J. Brown.

“Well, some people I’ve talked to around the league, some executives with other teams, do expect that the Eagles will at least entertain a trade for A.J. Brown, who is unhappy on numerous fronts,” Fowler said.

That update immediately raises new questions in Philadelphia.

Trade rumors surrounding Brown have been circulating for more than a month now, fueled by visible frustration throughout the 2025 season.

But this is the first concrete report suggesting the Eagles may actually be open to moving him.

Brown remains one of the league’s premier wide receivers and is still under contract with the Eagles.

However, from his body language on the field to his public comments about the offense, the frustration became hard to ignore.

Fowler Points to Possible Roster Pivot

Fowler made it clear this is not just outside speculation.

According to him, the belief is coming from decision makers across the league.

Fowler also floated the idea that the Eagles could shift their offensive focus if they choose to move on.

“They could build around DeVonta Smith and some other pieces, Saquon, maybe add a wide receiver,” Fowler said.

“So, he would create a haul for the Eagles if they do go that route.”

That comment suggests league executives believe Philadelphia would not be left scrambling.

Brown would command significant draft capital in return, giving general manager Howie Roseman flexibility to reshape the offense under new coordinator Sean Mannion.

The 49ers, Chiefs, Raiders and Broncos all have clear needs at wide receiver and have been named as teams to watch in the A.J. Brown pursuit.

A.J. Brown’s Frustrations Leave Complicated Decision for Eagles

Fowler pointed directly to Brown’s unhappiness as part of the reason the situation has escalated.

He added that Brown is “unhappy on numerous fronts.”

Fowler noted that Brown’s body language and visible frustration throughout the season did not go unnoticed around the league.

He was openly critical at times, including calling the offense a “s**tshow” during a Madden stream.

In the playoff loss to the 49ers, he was targeted just seven times and finished with three catches for 25 yards.

Drops and effort questions only added fuel to the fire.

Former teammate Jason Kelce weighed in Thursday on 94WIP:

He acknowledged both Brown’s talent and the challenges that come with his emotions.

“He’s just unfortunately a player who allows his internal frustrations to manifest into his play, and it makes him play worse and makes the offense worse and it makes his energy worse,” Kelce said.

At the same time, Brown struck a very different tone during Super Bowl week, calling Philadelphia “home” and expressing excitement about the 2026 season.

“When I got to Philly, Philly welcomed me with open arms,” Brown said. “That’s home, man.”

But Fowler’s report makes one thing clear: teams around the league believe the Eagles might listen.

Whether that leads to serious negotiations or an eventual blockbuster trade remains to be seen.
