Quarterback Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers is known to wear plain attire when arrives at stadiums before NFL games. But on February 11, he will play in the Super Bowl. That called for the quarterback “upping” his fashion game.
When he arrived at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the big game, Purdy was wearing a matching gray suit jacket and pants. He was also seen donning a nice pair of brown dress shoes.
But Purdy couldn’t be too fancy. That’s not his style. Under his gray suit jacket, he had on a button-down white shirt and no tie.

Considering what else Purdy has worn to NFL stadiums this season, this is easily his best pregame outfit.

The Sporting News’ David Suggs ranked Purdy’s five best game day outfits of the 2023-24 season on January 28. All of them included either jeans or an untucked shirt.
Sometimes, he’s had both. And again, that’s his best pregame outfits.
Suggs referred to Purdy as a “normal guy” with his pregame attire.
“Purdy has a clear sense of just what works for him,” Suggs wrote. “He’s a fan of workwear, spurning the ornate designs of Maison Margiela, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint-Laurent for Levi’s and Wranglers.
“And although his outfit selection prompts chuckles from his buddies, it’s unabashedly Purdy. And that’s exactly how he likes it.”
Suggs rated Purdy’s outfit for the NFC divisional round against the Green Bay Packers as his best outfit of the season.

While there’s quite a big of subjectivity in fashion, it’s hard to argue that if Suggs included Purdy’s Super Bowl outfit on a new ranking list, it would land at No. 1.
Purdy was more fashionable than usual ahead of the Super Bowl because of more than just his dress. On top of the jacket and dress pants, Purdy wore the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, a breakthrough audio wearable. Those earbuds have yet to be released on the market.

Purdy was perhaps in his best suit when he arrived at Allegiant Stadium. But that doesn’t mean he matched the fashion from his Super Bowl quarterback counterpart, Patrick Mahomes.
When he arrived at Allegiant Stadium on February 11, Mahomes was donning a jet-black suit, silver tie and Oakley sunglasses.
Heavy’s Matt Lombardo called the game-day fit “reminiscent” of the Las Vegas Raiders, who play their home games at Allegiant Stadium.
Mahomes’ getup also included a fancy roller bag.
“Never one to miss an opportunity to show off a product he endorses, Mahomes complemented his game day outfit with a roller bag emblazoned with his personal Adidas line logo,” wrote Lombardo.
There’s little doubt that the Chiefs have more of a fashion sense than Purdy and the 49ers. Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, announced on Instagram on February 9 that she’s making her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut in 2024.
With her announcement, Brittany shared a steamy video from the swimsuit shoot in Brazil.
And of course, expected to be joining Brittany in the significant others luxury boxes for the big game is pop icon Taylor Swift, who is dating Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce.
Purdy is better off not trying to keep up with the glamor the Chiefs brought to the Super Bowl. No one would care if he did anyway, as long as he keeps up with Mahomes and the Chiefs on the field.
