The San Francisco 49ers extended their win streak to four games after their 37-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans on December 14 at Levi’s Stadium. One of the standout performers in this contest was wideout Ricky Pearsall.

After only recording 14 receiving yards against the Cleveland Browns on November 30 before the Niners’ bye week, Pearsall came out and was a spark for the 49ers, like he was early on in the season before his injury.

Pearsall recorded six receptions for 96 receiving yards, putting together a bounce-back performance coming off the bye week. San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy said this outing from the wideout was bound to happen, given that the two have been working to get on the same page.

“He’ll never be a guy that’s going to go out of his way and complain, ‘I didn’t get targets, or the ball,'” Purdy said (h/t 95.7 The Game). “He’s about the team, and he understands that his moments and opportunities will come as we play. Today was just one of those days. We’ve all been itching to get him involved. Since he’s been back from his injury, and we know how dynamic he is as a receiver, I’m the first to tell him that.

“After, in the locker room, I’m like, ‘I want to get you the ball this week. I’m trying. Stick with me.’ Then he was always like, ‘Hey, I totally get your position, how the game goes.’ So he’s got my back. I got his back and to have a day like this was awesome. We just got to keep grinding together. When these days and ops come, you take advantage of.”

Christian McCaffrey Gets Honest About 49ers’ Ricky Pearsall

After the game, 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey also spoke about the performance of the young wide receiver.

“I’ve had the utmost respect for Ricky,” McCaffrey (h/t 95.7 The Game). “He’s an unbelievable player. As good as he’s done, he knows he can do more. Just watching him practice, watching him, there’s really no one [who] can cover him.

“He’s so good, he’s so shifty, he’s so fast, great hands. To go through the things that he’s had to go through, just from his rookie year on, and continue to have to battle adversity.”

Ricky Pearsall Is a Budding Superstar for the 49ers

Moreover, McCaffrey, who has dealt with his own injuries in the past, noted that once Pearsall puts this recent injury stint behind him, the player will take the next step toward becoming the wide receiver the team needs.

“As far as the injury stuff goes, I’ve been there before,” McCaffrey added. “I know what it’s like to have to try to come back, and it’s difficult. Sometimes it takes a few games to come back to feel like yourself again. That’s just what it is. That’s the nature of the game.

“The best thing to do is just keep going. The best part about Ricky is he’s going to keep getting better, keep getting better. I can’t wait to see when it eventually does pop off because he’s a special player.”
