This Buffalo Bills Report Could Change Everything for Brian Daboll and the Titans

The Buffalo Bills' interest in Broncos OC Davis Webb could push Brian Daboll to the Titans' OC job.

Davis Webb has interest from teams that Brian Daboll wants to coach for, which could help the Titans land him for offensive coordinator.

As the head coaching carousel spins faster by the hour, an unexpected development has emerged Sunday night after the Patriots vs. Broncos AFC Championship game that could ultimately reshape Tennessee’s offensive coordinator search: Davis Webb’s sudden popularity with the Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders might be the best news the Titans have received all week.

Jordan Schultz reported Sunday that the Bills are expected to pursue Denver Broncos‘ passing game coordinator Davis Webb for their head coaching vacancy now that the Broncos’ playoff run is over. The move puts Webb in even greater demand after he already scheduled a second interview with the Raiders this week.

NFL News: Bills, Raiders’ Interest in Davis Webb Leaves Door Open For Tennesee Titans and Brian Daboll

Daboll’s stated preference is the Bills’ head coaching job. According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Buffalo is Daboll’s “top choice,” and he interviewed well with ownership.

The Titans have made their urgency clear. According to Mike Garafolo, Tennessee wants to hire Daboll “as soon as possible,” and they’re prepared to wait for him to exhaust his head coaching options.

That patience is strategic. Sources indicate that if Daboll doesn’t land the Bills job, he’s “expected to wind up in Tennessee” as the offensive coordinator for rookie Cam Ward.

The Titans are also interviewing other candidates—Kliff Kingsbury and Adam Stenavich are scheduled for Monday—but Daboll remains the clear preference.

The connection between Daboll and Titans GM Mike Borgonzi dates back to their time together in Kansas City in 2012, according to multiple reports. Daboll already interviewed for Tennessee’s head coaching job earlier this month, giving him familiarity with the organization

Daboll’s Buffalo Dream vs. Tennessee’s Reality

Daboll is the favorite for the Buffalo job. He has a history with Josh Allen, spent four years as the Bills’ offensive coordinator from 2018-21, and is from the Buffalo area.

For now, the Titans are stuck in limbo. They want Daboll immediately but understand he’s exploring head coaching opportunities If the Bills decide to wait for Webb, Daboll’s path to Buffalo narrows significantly.

And when that path narrows, Tennessee becomes the fallback.
