WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella dropped a tidbit about her husband, Daniel Bryan, following her return at the 2026 Royal Rumble. Bryan, who now uses his real name, Bryan Danielson, is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling as a color commentator.
After months of speculation, Brie made her return to WWE as the No. 29 entrant in the women’s Rumble match. She lasted for just six minutes and 50 seconds before getting eliminated by Lash Legend. She had a total of one elimination, throwing Lyra Valkyria over the top rope.
Two days later, on Raw in Philadelphia, Brie and Nikki Bella officially reunited and declared their intent to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
The titles are currently held by Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY, who are set to defend them against Giulia and Kiana James soon. That means The Bella Twins will need to earn some wins before becoming the No. 1 contenders in a deep women’s tag team division.
Brie Drops Daniel Bryan News After WWE Return
It has been a wild ride for Brie Bella, who officially left WWE in 2023, after her contract expired. She made an appearance on AEW the following year at All In to support Daniel Bryan for his match against Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship.
Fast forward to 2026, and it was Bryan’s turn to support Brie for her WWE return.
Speaking on Notsam Wrestling Live with Sam Roberts, The Bella Twins revealed that they were trained by The American Dragon for their respective returns. Brie described how her husband is as a coach, with Nikki backing up her claims.
“Obviously, my husband might be one of the greatest coaches in the world,” Brie said, via Fightful. Nikki replied, “I mean, you should see my text message from him.”
“And he’s a very hard coach,” Brie added.
“I’m showing (William) Regal, like, ‘So this is what Bryan wants me to practice today,'” Nikki said.
Bryan has not wrestled in AEW since a dark match on June 25, 2025. He has been having issues with his neck and transitioned into a color commentator role on Dynamite. However, he has not been on the call since the January 14 episode of the show.
Brie Used Bryan’s ‘Yes Kicks’ at the Rumble
Upon her return at the Royal Rumble, Brie Bella used Daniel Bryan’s patented “Yes Kicks” to the delight of the Saudi Arabia crowd. The Miz does a variation of the move called “It Kicks,” but it doesn’t have the same appeal as from Brie or Bryan’s.
In the same appearance on Notsam Wrestling Live, Brie revealed that she was reluctant to use the “Yes Kicks” on her return.
“So, I was not gonna do the ‘Yes Kicks’ because I’ve not done the ‘Yes Kicks’ since 2018,” Brie said. “… It was about three hours before showtime, it just came to me, I go, ‘If they chant yes, I’ll do ’em.’ Because I didn’t know. I didn’t wanna go out there and do the ‘Yes Kicks’ and no one’s chanting yes. It just didn’t feel right.”
Brie added that she initially told everyone backstage about her plans not to use Bryan’s signature move. However, one producer insisted that she should do it, which helped her make up her mind.
