Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka commented on the latest rumors suggesting his comeback is imminent.
Prochazka last competed at UFC 327, when he failed in his bid to win the vacant UFC light heavyweight title with a first-round KO loss to Carlos Ulberg in a fight that he was winning until he let Ulberg off the hook and paid for it with a brutal knockout defeat.
However, Ulberg tore his ACL in the fight and won’t be back until 2027. That has left the UFC light heavyweight division without a defending champion right now, and there have been rumors that the promotion could create an interim title while Ulberg is out.
There have been hints that if an interim title is created, Prochazka could possibly fight Paulo Costa for that belt. But Prochazka says those rumors are unfounded.

Taking to his social media, Prochazka confirmed that he is back training, but denied that he has a fight booked at the moment.
“Strong week, great rounds and teamwork. Family and friend bachelors party for relax on weekend. Let’s start a 3rd week. Just don’t believe to every (expletive) on internet. Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that. One thing is sure. I want my preparation to be truly thorough—to break everything down—and to start from the roots that have long been a part of me. There are still levels that can be reached, and right now I am very grateful to see them clearly,” Prochazka wrote on his Instagram.
Interim Title Makes Sense
Although the fans don’t love it when the UFC creates interim titles, in the case of the UFC light heavyweight division, it makes sense right now that one is created since Ulberg won’t be able to fight again until 2027.
The upcoming UFC 332 card in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 3 doesn’t currently have a main event, and quite frankly, there aren’t many options for the headliner.
That’s why fans have connected an interim title fight at 205 lbs to the UFC 332 headliner. But at this point, it’s just speculation.
