Fan favorite Max Holloway provided the latest update on a rematch against superstar Conor McGregor, which is rumored for UFC 329.

A potential welterweight bout between McGregor and Holloway has been linked to being the headliner for UFC 329, which takes place on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This would be a rematch, after the two first met back in 2013, with McGregor beating Holloway by decision.

But while there are rumors linking the two veterans to a fight, Holloway said that he still hasn’t received an official contract offer from the UFC, though he definitely wants this fight.

“Maybe, we’ll see what happens. I’m seeing all the talk that you guys see. I didn’t really hear anything yet, but that wouldn’t be a bad time. You’re only as good as your last fight, they say, and we’re going to get everybody forgetting about that last fight as soon as possible,” Holloway told UFC on Paramount+ (via MMAjunkie.com).

Max Holloway Dearly Wants Conor McGregor Rematch

After losing to McGregor 13 years ago, Holloway would love to get his hand on his longtime rival again. Especially after a bad loss to Charles Oliveira in his last fight, where he was taken down and controlled for five rounds, Holloway is excited about a potential standup war with McGregor.

“I mean, it’s just, it sucks because, of course, you don’t have nothing signed or whatever. So training camp looks like a regular training camp without a contract. My head space is still straight. I know when I fight. We kind of know where we want to fight, why we want to fight. So, just getting in the gym, getting there, getting it done. We have history. We fought a very long time ago. I would love to get (McGregor) back,” Holloway said.

“With him having all this talk of coming back and everybody talking about how serious he looks like he’s training and taking it and really wanting to come back to fight, it’s exciting. He looks super hungry. He just did a boxing exhibition not too long ago, so that was pretty cool to see him. I would just like to get one back. I know it’s a huge fight. Anything with Conor McGregor is huge, but having history with the dude, being able to get one back would be cool.”

Other Bouts Rumored for UFC 329

Aside from the rematch between Holloway and McGregor, there are a few other bouts rumored to take place at UFC 329.

The first is a lightweight bout between Paddy Pimblett and Benoit Saint Denis. This bout hasn’t been officially revealed by the UFC yet, but it has been confirmed by multiple sources to Heavy.com, so it’s happening.

Other fights set for UFC 329 are a bantamweight rematch between Cory Sandhagen and Mario Bautista, a middleweight bout between Cesar Almeida and Damian Pinas, a light heavyweight bout between Robert Whittaker and Nikita Krylov, a middleweight bout between Zach Reese and Ryan Gandra, and the UFC debut of top heavyweight prospect Gable Steveson.
