Millas (lip) will start at catcher and bat eighth Friday against the Diamondbacks, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports. Millas left Tuesday's contest with an upper lip laceration but will return to the starting nine Friday to fill in for Keibert Ruiz as Washington's backstop. Millas hasn't found much success as a hitter this season, slashing just .181/.252/.277 across 105 plate appearances.

Andrew Millas: Breaking News
Exits early Tuesday
Millas was removed from Tuesday's game against the Marlins with an upper lip laceration, Kyle Williams of TheBanner.com reports. Millas' helmet came off his head and bounced back into his face while he was sliding into third base in the sixth inning, causing his lip to start bleeding. He was removed by a trainer shortly afterward and can likely be considered day-to-day for now.
Pops first homer of 2026
Milias went 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's rout of the Twins. The switch-hitting backstop took Bailey Ober deep in the fifth inning for his first long ball of the season, a blast that put the Nationals in the lead for good in an eventual 15-2 win. Milias hasn't offered much offense so far while backing up Keibert Ruiz, slashing .172/.238/.276 through 64 plate appearances with five RBI and seven runs.
