Colin Selby: Everything you need to know

Selby was recently evaluated by Dr. Chris Looze in Baltimore due to ongoing symptoms with his injured right shoulder, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Selby has been out all season with right shoulder inflammation and seems to have made little-to-no progress. He is still in the process of discussing treatment options, but it's unclear whether surgery is being considered. Selby held a 3.21 ERA and 14:2 K:BB over 14 innings out of the Orioles' bullpen in 2025.

The Orioles placed Selby on the 60-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports. Selby's move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains sidelined until at least late May and open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Jackson Kowar, who was acquired in a trade with the Twins on Saturday. Selby isn't reportedly dealing with any structural damage, which increases the likelihood that he returns to the Orioles' bullpen after a minimum-length IL stint.

Orioles president of baseball operations Mike Elias said Wednesday that Selby is expected to begin the season on the injured list due to right shoulder inflammation, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. He's not dealing with any structural damage, but Selby will be sidelined indefinitely as the Orioles allow the inflammation in his shoulder to subside. Selby yielded five runs with a 14:2 K:BB over 14 frames with Baltimore in 2025 and, once healthy, is slated for a middle relief role.
