Elvis Peguero: Everything you need to know

The Orioles signed Peguero (elbow) to a two-year minor-league contract Tuesday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. Peguero ended last season on the injured list with the White Sox due to a right elbow strain. That he signed a two-year minor-league deal suggests he might have needed surgery, though that hasn't been confirmed. Peguero holds a career 4.26 ERA over parts of five major-league seasons.

The White Sox outrighted Peguero (elbow) to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday. Peguero finished the season on the 15-day injured list with a strained right elbow, though he did not require surgery and should be ready for spring training, barring any setbacks. He's no longer on the 40-man roster but could be in spring training with the White Sox as a non-roster invitee.

The White Sox placed Peguero on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right elbow strain. Peguero recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday and evidently hurt his elbow during his appearance in the White Sox's 11-10 loss to Atlanta later that night. He'll be eligible for activation Sept. 4, but given the nature of the injury, the righty might not be ready at that time.
