De'Andre Hunter: Breaking News

Hunter is set to undergo season-ending eye surgery, Chris Haynes of NBA TV reports. Hunter managed to suit up for only two games for Sacramento before opting to undergo a season-ending procedure on his eye, but this likely won't be something that impacts his status for next year's training camp. He will end his 2025-26 campaign with averages of 13.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 triples in 26.1 minutes per game across 45 regular-season outings (25 starts) between Cleveland and Sacramento. With the 28-year-old forward sidelined, Nique Clifford and Daeqwon Plowden are candidates for increased playing time.

Hunter (eye) has been ruled out for Saturday's game in San Antonio. Saturday will mark Hunter's fifth consecutive game on the inactive list, and for now, he should be considered questionable for Monday's meeting with Memphis. Nique Clifford and Daeqwon Plowden will continue to pick up the slack in Hunter's absence.

Hunter (eye) is listed as out for Thursday's game against the Magic. Hunter is battling a left eye injury that cost him the final three games before the All-Star break and will keep him sidelined coming out of the pause. It's unclear how close he is to returning, but his absence will likely mean more opportunities for Nique Clifford and Daeqwon Plowden. Hunter's next chance to play will come Saturday against the Spurs.
