For the past 11 years, Todd McShay has offered his takes on NCAA football and the bread-and-butter of his coverage, the NFL Draft.

McShay is often featured alongside fellow ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. on TV as the two analyze team needs during the draft and use their in-depth scouting information to project draft position. McShay’s been at it for the network since 2006, appearing as a commentator for a few college football games over the years, too.

He went to the University of Richmond in Virginia and was a walk-on quarterback for the football team until a back injury ended his collegiate athletic career. While in school, he worked as an undergraduate assistant football coach and then worked under former NFL scout Gary Horton in 1998. He graduated from Richmond in 1999.

A few years later, McShay met Lauren “Lo” Sullivan and the two started a relationship. They’ve now been married for over 10 years.

Here’s what you need to know about the McShays:

1. Todd & Lauren Got Married Over a Decade Ago

According to reports, Lauren and Todd tied the knot on July 9, 2006 in Cape Cod.

It’s not entirely clear how the couple met, but Lauren’s Facebook page says that she is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It doesn’t appear that Todd and Lauren have any children yet, though.

In a 2012 interview with The Boston Globe, Lauren said that during her and Todd’s wedding, they were “one of those horror stories where the cards were collected in an open basket and someone stole the gifts.”

2. Lauren Owns a Boutique Design Firm & Plans Events

In 2010, Lauren started up her own event planning company.

Known as LoLo Event Design, the company is a full-service event consultation and design firm. The business plans events such as dinner parties, weddings, nonprofit fundraisers and corporate events.

The 2012 interview by The Boston Globe centered around her business, as she answered a few questions about what it means to be an event planner, speaking to some of the lessons she’s learned in the industry. She said that her favorite event she played a role in planning at the time was a wedding at The Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

“I love adding modern elements to classic New England buildings,” she said in the article. “It’s one the few venues that has an outdoor dance floor (overlooking) the ocean. There was so much love on the dance floor, not only between the couple, but their friends and family.”

On Lauren’s LinkeIn page, she speaks about some of the events she’s been fortunate enough to help plan. Those include some of New England’s top venues at the Chatham Bars Inn, Wequassett Resort and Golf Club and the Harvard Club-Boston.

Her business has been featured in many publications other than The Globe, including North Shore Magazine, Design New England and Southern New England Weddings.

3. She Went to a Private High School & Then Graduated From Boston University

Lauren’s Facebook page says that she attended Sewickley Academy in Pittsburgh for high school. It’s a private school located in Sewickley, about 13 miles from Pittsburgh.

At current count, Sewickley Academy has just 660 students but features a 16-acre campus that includes 60 classrooms, nine science labs and two libraries.

After attending high school there, Lauren went on to attend Boston University in 2001, graduating from the college in 2004 with a degree in advertising.

Todd is from Swampscott, Massachusetts, just 12 miles from Boston, so that may have been how they met in the first place.

In a humorous 2015 tweet, Todd revealed that Lauren grew up on the largest llama farm in the United States.

4. Todd Said He Is Consumed By Football at the Couples’ Home

With football being a huge part of his life and professional career, it should come as no surprise that the sport consumes his life the other 362 days that the draft isn’t happening.

He told The NY Post in 2016 that for much of the year outside of the draft, he sits by himself in the couples’ home prepping for work.

“Most of my year is spent in a room that is dark watching tape by myself in silence because there’s no game coverage or anything like that,” he said.

5. Before Started Her Business, Lauren Held Advertising & Marketing Jobs

Before starting her own business, Lauren held a number of other jobs in the marketing and advertising industries.

Right after receiving her bachelor’s degree from Boston University, she worked as a marketing associate for DigitasLBi, a global marketing and technology agency. She worked there for two years (2004-2006) and then worked as an account executive at CP Travel, a marketing and advertising firm in Boston. She did that for about a year starting in January 2007 before receiving a promotion to account supervisor the following year.

She worked in the new role for CP Travel for about two-and-a-half years before she started her successful event planning business.
