Wrestlemania 34

WWE

Winners: Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon!

Highlights: Daniel got a hero’s welcome with an amazing intro that marked his in-ring return. While him and Shane stood in the ring waiting for their opponents, Owens and Zayn ran in from behind and attacked their former bosses. Owens and Zayn took their fight to the outside and threw Shane right into the crowd near his family. Then both men turned their attention to Daniel and Powerbombed him right onto the ring apron. While EMT’s tended to Daniel on the outside, Shane called for the bell to ring so he could start the match against Owens and Zayn. Shane made sure to knock Zayn off the ring apron so he could focus on striking down Owens. His string of offensive moves put him in a good position at first, but he eventually fell victim to Owens and Zayn’s combined assault. For several uncomfortable minutes, Shane found himself on the receiving end of several big moves from Owens and Zayn. Shane tried making a comeback, but he got cut off repeatedly.

After dodging a Helluva Kick and forcing Owens outside of the ring, Shane hit a risky Coast to Coast dropkick to Zayn. Unfortunately, Shane was unable to capitalize on such a big move. Owens punished Shane even more by landing a Running Senton Splash and a Frog Splash off the top rope. Owens looked to pin Shane, but Daniel ran back in to make the shocking save! Owens looked to take Shane out moments later by landing a Cannonball Splash into him in the corner, but Shane dodged it at the very last second. Shane fought valiantly to make the tag to Daniel. Zayn stopped him at first, but Shane forced him off wit ha back suplex and finally tagged in Daniel. Daniel entered the ring and woke the crowd up as he broke out all of his best moves. Daniel laid into both men with repeated corner dropkicks and then forced Zayn off the top rope with a Frankensteiner.

As Daniel looked to land another big move, Owens grabbed his foot from the outside. This gave Zayn enough time to tear into Daniel with a sudden Helluva Kick! The match continued as Owens Superkicked Shane from the ring apron, which led to Owens turning his attention to Daniel and planting him with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. This still wasn’t enough to finish off Daniel, though! Soon after, Owens found himself laid out on the outside after Shane dove onto him. Daniel then went on a tear as he kicked Zayn in the chest repeatedly. Daniel got another WrestleMania moment after using his running knee to ground Zayn and finally lock him into the Yes! Lock.

Wrestlemania 34

WWE

Winner: And the new WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Nia Jax!

Highlights: Bliss made a grand entrance and made sure to call out Mickie James as her plus-one for this title defense. Once the big match introductions ended, Nia ran right at Mickie and beat her into nothingness. Bliss tried a sneak attack on Nia, but this further angered her and pushed her to end Mickie with a Samoan Slam on the outside. Once the bell rang, Bliss made an attempt at damaging Nia but her offense seemingly tickled the bigger challenger. Nia remained in control until Bliss stuck her fingers in her eyes to blind her. Bliss finally got some offense going as she worked on Nia’s back. Nia almost made another comeback, but she found herself hurting on the outside after she mistakenly rammed her shoulder into the ring post. Bliss then came off the top rope to land on her larger foe with a Twisted Bliss.

Back in the ring, Bliss looked to stay in control. But her constant verbal taunting woke Nia back up and pissed her off even more. A Snap DDT brought Nia down to the mat for a split second, but then Nia got back to her feet to do some damage. Nia crushed Bliss with a bevy of moves and finally wore Bliss down to a shell of her former self. Nia finally got rid of Bliss after taking her out with a devastating top rope Samoan Slam.

Highlights: Jinder and Rusev actually got some big time introductions on behalf of their partners. The bell finally rang to start things off and it started in the hottest way possible. Orton almost landed an RKO on Jinder, but it failed and led to him and Jinder both getting exiled from the ring. Rusev landed a dropkick on Roode and then came off the ring apron with a Somersault Splash to Orton and Jinder. Rusev then re-entered the ring, but was met with a Blockbuster from Roode soon after. Orton and Jinder got back into the ring to square off with Roode, but then Orton and Roode teamed up to get rid of Jinder. Orton then turned his sights on Roode and landed severe damage on him by landing a Superplex. Afterwards, Rusev and Jinder ended up back in the ring. Jinder tried to enter into an alliance with Rusev, but Rusev would have none of it.

Rusev slammed him down and landed a series of boots into him. Rusev then shoved him to the outside, but Orton caught him with a backbreaker on the crowd barrier. Jinder then landed a big boot on the champ before climbing back into the ring. Roode cut Jinder off by hitting him with a Spinebuster, but was unable to land his finisher due to Jinder’s quick thinking. After both men got taken out of the ring, Rusev used a roundhouse kick to take out Orton. Rusev then went for another big move, but Orton cut him off and planted him with his Apron DDT. Orton then went RKO crazy on English, Rusev, and Jinder. Roode broke up Orton’s pin attempt and then put him on his back with a Glorious DDT. The match broke into pure mayhem as every man began landing their signature moves. Rusev looked to be on the verge of victory after he landed a Superkick on Jinder. He looked to lock in The Accolade, but Jinder’s plus one on the outside distracted him. Rusev Superkicked him off the ring apron, but this brief moment of distraction led to his downfall. Jinder finished off Rusev with a match ending Khallas.

The Miz (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Bálor (Triple Threat Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Wrestlemania 34

In a shocking move, The Miz sent his men to the back and made it clear that he’d defend the title without any outside assistance. Finn made his entrance with LGBT members of the WWE Universe marking his march down to the ring. As all three men stood in the ring, they began circling each other and looking to get an early advantage. All three men exchanged some quick roll up pin attempts to start things off. Miz and Rollins ended up getting taken to the outside, which led to Finn flipping right onto them by landing a Suicide Somersault Senton. Miz and Finn then found themselves going at in the ring for a bit until Rollins landed a Springboard Clothesline on Finn. Miz then began landing a few extra hits on Finn, but then Rollins got both men down with a double top-rope Blockbuster. Miz looked to be in dire straits until he began beating down Rollins. Miz regained control of the bout after he booted Rollins out of the ring and landed a neckbreaker on Finn.

Finn found himself locked into a chinlock hold by Miz for a few moments, but he eventually broke the hold and built up some steam by tapping into his comeback offense. Finn ended up kicking Miz while he was stuck on the top rope and turned right around to face Rollins. Rollins found a way to force Finn out of the ring, which led right into him landing Suicide Dives to him and Miz. Finn ran back into the ring and laid into Rollins with a Slingblade that almost finished him off. Finn looked to land another big move, but he got cut off with a Rollins Superkick. But then Rollins got planted with a Miz DDT. The action picked up even more as Miz kicked Rollins to the outside and then locked Finn into his Figure Four Leglock. Miz kept the submission hold locked on while Finn writhed in pain, but then Rollins cancelled Miz’s Figure Four by landing a Frog Splash.

The match returned to the outside, which saw Finn break up a Powerbomb attempt and land a Slingblade on Rollins. Then Finn clocked both his rivals with a running dropkick into the timekeeper’s section. Finn and Rollins then went to war in the ring with repeated kicks. Finn landed a final kick that left Rollins weary and then went right into landing his Reverse 1916. While Finn stood on the top rope, Miz stopped him. This then led to an insane sequence that saw Rollins pick up Miz to Powerbomb him into the corner and run right back to Finn to land a Superplex. However, Finn tried a School Boy pin to counter Rollins’ followup Falcon Arrow. After Rollins escaped, Miz ran up behind him and landed his Skull Crushing Finale. As the match wore on, Miz did his best to take out Finn. Both men sat on the top rope, which led to Rollins clocking Finn with a kick. Miz saved himself by landing a top-rope Skull Crushing Finale, but then Finn stomped on the both of them with his Coup de Grâce. Finn woke himself back up to land a final Slingblade on Miz and another Coup de Grâce. All of a sudden, Rollins landed a Curb Stomp on both Finn and Miz. Rollins followed that up by getting the winning pin on Miz’s prone body.
