The Atlanta Braves are set to begin a three-game weekend series against the Colorado Rockies. With MLB’s best record (22-10), the Braves look to keep their stretch of zero series losses against the Rockies. It’s a lengthy west coast road trip for Atlanta, who will take on Colorado, the Seattle Mariners, and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the next week.
As for Friday’s game against the Rockies, a piece of Michael Harris II news dropped a few hours before first pitch.
Per reports before game one of the series, Harris II will be available off the bench on Friday:
“Walt Weiss says Michael Harris available as a pinch-hitter today if needed: “Just picking our spots with Michael, trying to let that thing heal up. He can stay under control a lot more easier on the offensive side of the ball than he can on the defensive side of the ball.”

Michael Harris II Not in Braves Lineup Friday Night
After the Braves announced their Friday night lineup, Michael Harris II is not featured in it, as he’s getting the night off with a quad injury.
Harris II has been seeing some time at the designated hitter slot due to this quad injury, which he aggravated about a week ago, and it seems to be lingering a bit. Harris II is one of the hottest hitters in MLB right now.
Here is the full Braves lineup for game one of their series against the Rockies:
RF Ronald Acuña Jr., DH Drake Baldwin, 2B Ozzie Albies, 1B Matt Olson, CF Mauricio Dubón, 3B Austin Riley, LF Eli White, C Jonah Heim, SS Jorge Mateo.
Some notable things: It looks like Austin Riley has dropped a few slots after his tough struggles at the plate, and Jonah Heim gets the start behind the plate for Atlanta.

The first full month of MLB is officially in the books, and it could not have gone any better for the Atlanta Braves.
They have received amazing contributions from starters like Martin Perez, Bryce Elder, and Grant Holmes, and their stars (Matt Olson, Drake Baldwin, and Chris Sale) have shown out on a nightly basis.
After a disappointing 2025 campaign, Atlanta switched managers, and it’s clear paid dividends. Walt Weiss has said on several occasions how well he knows this Braves team, and how much of a joy it has been managing them to start the season.
