The Braves are coming off a 4-3 victory on Wednesday.

They currently have a 2-0 lead in the series, so they will look to go for the sweep.

Mike Yastrzemski was not in Wednesday’s lineup (but he had one at-bat).

For Thursday’s series finale, the Braves have once again left Yastrzemski out of the lineup.

He is batting .202 with six RBI’s, 12 runs and one stolen base in 28 games.

It’s possible that Yastrzemski could once again be used off the bench (on Thursday).

David O’Brien wrote (on December 10): “Yastrzemski will get $9 million in 2026 and $10 million in 2027. There’s a $7 million club option for 2028 with a $4 million buyout.”

He spent the first six and a half seasons of his career playing for the San Francisco Giants.

After a quick stint with the Kansas City Royals last year, Yastrzemski signed with the Braves.

Over 868 career games, he is batting .237 with 123 home runs, 370 RBI’s, 445 runs and 26 stolen bases.

Braves Right Now

The Braves are off to an incredible start to the 2026 season.

They are at the top of the National League East with a 22-9 record in 31 games.

At home, the Braves have gone 12-5 in 17 games.

Following the Nationals, they will head to Denver for a series with the Colorado Rockies that starts on Friday night.
