The New York Yankees‘ starting rotation may be getting another boost in the coming weeks, as Carlos Rodon’s return from the IL could be near.
New York is currently taking on the Atlanta Braves in a weekend series (at home). The Yanks are going for the series win on Saturday evening.
During the Braves series, New York announced a pertinent piece of Carlos Rodon news.

Carlos Rodon has been absent from the Yankees’ rotation over the last couple of months, dealing with an injury.
“New York Yankees sent LHP Carlos Rodón on a rehab assignment to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.”
SNY.com’s Robert Sanchez wrote (about Rodón):
“Carlos Rodon has been on the injured list since June 30 with left elbow inflammation, but the Yankees starting pitcher is returning to the mound on Saturday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The left-hander will throw close to 50 pitches in what will be his first rehab start since the injury, manager Aaron Boone told reporters before New York’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night.”

Carlos Rodon is in the middle of his fourth season with the New York Yankees.
Across nine starts and 46.1 IP this year, Rodon has an ERA of 3.30 with 52 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.252.
He had made 30+ starts in each of the last two seasons for New York, but that will not happen in 2026. Rodon boasted an ERA of 3.09 across 33 starts in what was an All-Star campaign for the 33-year-old southpaw last season.
As for when Rodon is ready to return to the fold for the Yanks, it will be interesting to see how they utilize his services, especially given the fact that the rotation already seems full, but Rodon’s return could push Ryan Weather back to the bullpen.
