The Sunday Night Football matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions had its fair share of fireworks, both during and after the game, and a clip of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and opposing pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson has gone viral in the hours since.
Mahomes asks him, “What the f**k are you doing?” 😂
“Aidan Hutchinson just laughably late, a clear late hit, and poor judgment by him, on Patrick Mahomes,” the caption of the clip read as Hutchinson shoves the Chiefs QB to the ground well after he gets the ball away. Continuing: “Mahomes asks him, ‘What the [expletive] are you doing?’ 😂.”
This clip, shared by BleavNetwork’s “The Whole Delivery,” has already garnered over 1.3 million views in under 16 hours, making it a viral sensation on X. In it, you can see Mahomes mouthing the words in the direction of Hutchinson.
The Lions star earned a roughing the passer penalty for this late hit on the quarterback. The deserved flag led to the Chiefs’ final touchdown, which increased the lead to 27-17 at the time.
The Chiefs Were the More Disciplined Team Facing the Lions

Whether it was this play by Hutchinson or the postgame altercation involving Lions defensive back Brian Branch, the Chiefs just seemed to be the more composed group in Week 6.
On the night, Detroit was flagged 4 times for a total of 38 penalty yards. Two of these penalties resulted in a first down for Kansas City.
Then, on the other side of things, the Chiefs played a very clean game in the penalty department and were not flagged.
On top of that, KC also converted two of their three fourth-down attempts, while the Lions went 0-for-2 in that area. So, clearly, the Chiefs did the little things better than Detroit in this outing, and it showed on the scoreboard at the end of the game.
This was a crucial victory for Kansas City, as it got them back to .500 at 3-3. The Chiefs’ schedule briefly lightens up a bit after this with two home games versus the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders, but it doesn’t last long.
After the home stretch, KC will hit the road to face off against Josh Allen and the AFC rival Buffalo Bills in Week 9.
Patrick Mahomes Is Back in the MVP Conversation After Taking Down Aidan Hutchinson, Lions
It’s been some time since Mahomes has been a clear MVP finalist. But that could change in 2025.
The NFL MVP conversation has circled back to Mahomes, who is already a two-time winner.
“Patrick Mahomes is finding his MVP stride 👀,” DraftKings Sportsbook noted after the Chiefs defeated the Lions.
NFL aggregator Dov Kleiman agreed, relaying: “Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in his last four games this NFL season. 98/145, 1,069 passing yards, 11 total TDs, 1 INT. Mahomes is clearly the MVP favorite 📈.”
KC Star beat reporter Pete Sweeney sees the way Mahomes is playing, too, and he has more experience covering the Chiefs superstar than most.
“Baker [Mayfield’s] about to get the love all week, but Mahomes is playing like the NFL MVP,” Sweeney said on October 12.
It seems everyone is starting to notice that Mahomes is once again playing at the top of his game.
