Taylor Swift’s interaction with a fan during the Kansas City Chiefs‘ game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, October 18, has sparked debate after a video showed the singer gesturing toward someone filming her.
Some social media users claimed Swift, 36, snapped at the fan, but celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman offered a different interpretation.
Honigman suggested Swift initially looked uncomfortable before realizing the person filming her didn’t have bad intentions.
“The interaction between Swift and the fan is good-natured rather than antagonistic, even though the singer felt somewhat nervous,” Honigman explained on behalf of Casino.org.
The incident happened while Swift watched her husband, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, from a VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Honigman analyzed Swift’s movements as the fan approached the suite and began recording.
“When Taylor first spots the fan, her shoulders are raised and curled forwards. This stance shows tension, and as her hands are gathered in front of her protectively, even anxiety,” Honigman said.
“The singer’s head is inclined forwards as she tries to keep her mind and eyes on the game, but her physical form reveals that she is anxious.”
Honigman suggested Swift might initially have been unsure about the person’s intentions.
“She could be worried in case this is not a fan but an agitator, someone with bad intentions,” the expert explained.
However, Honigman said Swift’s gestures did not appear aggressive.
“Then, when she’s seen gesticulating for the fan to focus on the game, her moves are not annoyed or they would have been shorter, and quicker.”
“Rather, Taylor points towards the field using her full arm and hand, giving the fan a lot of attention, and then she faces forwards again, smiling.”
Honigman also pointed to Swift’s facial expression after the interaction.
“Her little grin is kind of flattered. It would appear that, once she’s made eye contact with the fan, she could see that it was no agitator, and was just filming her with no ill intent.”
“Swift still loves and appreciates her fans, even when they’re a little intrusive.”
The expert’s interpretation is based on the singer’s visible movements and does not establish what Swift was thinking during the encounter.
Chiefs Fans Defend Taylor Swift After Woman Films Her Inside Arrowhead Stadium
According to Page Six, the video showed a woman looking into Swift’s luxury suite while the singer watched the game.
Security reportedly told the woman to stop, but she continued pointing her phone toward Swift.
The singer noticed the camera and gestured toward the field, apparently encouraging the woman to watch the game instead.
Another person sitting below the suite also intervened, prompting the woman to return to her seat.
Several people commenting on the TikTok video defended Swift and criticized the woman’s behavior.
“I do not understand how people think this is OK even after she told you to stop you continue on until her bodyguard has to tell you to go,” one person wrote.
Another commenter added, “How do people have zero self awareness or shame getting in someone’s face taking pictures. It’s so awkward. I’m glad she told the person to knock it off and watch the game.”
A third wrote, “That’s insane. Leave her alone. Geezzz people.”
