Travis Kelce has finally spoken out on his engagement to the world's biggest pop star.

The Kansas City Chiefs took Wednesday off from practice for a travel day — a 10-hour flight to São Paulo, Brazil, head coach Andy Reid confirmed on Tuesday. That’s where the defending AFC champions, taking the field for the first time in an official game since their lackluster 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59, will face the Los Angeles Chargers in a rare Friday night NFL matchup.

But before getting aboard the plane, Chiefs future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce took time to continue fulfilling his $100 million contract with Amazon’s podcasting subsidiary Wondery, recording — with his older brother, retired Eagles center Jason Kelce — the latest episode of his “New Heights” podcast.

And on that new episode, the younger Kelce spoke publicly for the first time about his engagement to his girlfriend of the past two years, global pop music megastar Taylor Swift.

World’s Most Famous Couple Gets More Famous

The pair were already the world’s most popular couple. The quantity of Google searches for their two names together over the past year has vastly outstripped other high-profile couples such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Donald and Melania Trump and another NFL player, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his new wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld.

But with their August 26 engagement, interest in the future and current activities of Swift and Kelce who are both 35 years old (Swift is younger by two months and eight days), has gone through the roof.

Kelce Still ‘Giddy’ Over Engagement to Swift

Though they announced their betrothal in an Instagram post on August 26, neither has made a public comment about their engagement and how they feel about it.

Until now.

On his final podcast before taking off, literally, for Brazil, Kelce openly expressed his feelings about taking the monumental step in his relationship with Swift, saying that a full week later, he still felt “giddy.”

Kelce Pretends He Doesn’t Want to Talk About it

But Kelce had to first be coaxed by his older brother to spill his feelings about the major event.

“Travis, we gotta talk about it,” the older Kelce brother said on the podcast.

“I don’t think we do,” Travis replied. But he was clearly protesting in jest, because he immediately went off on the subject.

“I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on,” Kelce declared. “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”

College Football Outing Was Landmark Event

He went on to say that his first opportunity to introduce Swift in her new status as the future Mrs. Kelce came last Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium when the facility that houses Chiefs home games hosted a college football matchup between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Kelce’s college team, the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Exciting, it’s been awesome,” the Chiefs superstar said, answering his brother’s question about whoa his life had been like over the previous week. “I felt that at the game, actually, It was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates. So yeah, it was pretty cool.”

Kelce Out For Football Redemption

On Friday, Kelce will need to get his mind back on his day job and set aside his new life as Taylor Swift’s future husband, as he aims for redemption after his sluggish Super Bowl performance when he caught just four passes for 39 yards without a touchdown.

The Chiefs vs. Chargers game will stream live for free on YouTube, with kickoff scheduled for 9 p.m. Brazil Standard Time — or 8 p.m. Eastern, 5 p.m. Pacific in the United States.
