The New England Patriots are putting the finishing touches on their preparations for Super Bowl LX. The team held its final practice of the season on Friday afternoon, meaning that Saturday will likely be spent reviewing the gameplan and making sure that everybody has crossed their t’s and dotted their i’s.

For Stefon Diggs, though, he may have a bit of a different day on Saturday. That’s because Diggs, who is already facing one ongoing lawsuit, has been sued again in relation to a different incident. Late on Friday night, reports emerged indicating that Diggs was being sued by a man who claims he used to work for him for defamation and several other charges.

Patriots’ Stefon Diggs Facing New Lawsuit

Diggs signed a three-year, $63.5 million contract with the Patriots over the offseason, and while he has been exactly what the team has hoped he’d be on the field and in the locker room, he continues to find himself dealing with off-field drama. Diggs’ relationship with popular hip-hop artist Cardi B has received widespread media attention, and he was recently accused of assault and strangulation by his former personal chef.

While the aforementioned case involving his former chef won’t be resolved until after the Super Bowl, Diggs has landed himself in hot water once again. A former associate of Diggs’ claims that New England’s star wide receiver has been defaming his character over an incident involving a stolen Ferrari, and that Diggs had people from his crew assault him.

The man claims that Diggs has blamed him for stealing his Ferrari, which officials determined was stolen by a third party while it was being transported from New York to Houston. Since then, Diggs has continually said the man stole his car, which caused his concierge and consulting business to falter. Add in the alleged assault (which Diggs was not physically part of), and he has another troubling lawsuit on his hands.

“The Patriots star wide receiver is being sued for defamation and more, according to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ … The guy claims Stefon defamed him, engaged in a civil conspiracy, and is vicariously liable for the actions of the guys who allegedly beat him up,” TMZ Sports reported.

Make no mistake, both of the recent lawsuits filed against Diggs are concerning, and they deserve the utmost attention of the legal system. However, these things take time, and neither of them will be resolved before Super Bowl LX. It’s never good to see players pop up in the news for these sorts of incidents, but the Patriots are going to do their best to not let the situation distract them.

At some point, Diggs could face repercussions for his actions, but that’s not going to happen before the Super Bowl. As a result, he and the rest of his teammates are locked in on their upcoming battle against the Seattle Seahawks, as they attempt to be crowned the champions of the 2025 NFL campaign. Kickoff for Super Bowl LX is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday night.
