The Premier League is back.
The 2026-27 season kicks off Friday, August 21, with reigning champion Arsenal hosting newly promoted Coventry City in the first match of the new campaign.
The Gunners enter the season after capturing the Premier League title in May and will begin their title defense in front of their home supporters. Arsenal-Coventry kicks off at 3 p.m. ET and will air on USA Network in the United States.
That’s only the beginning of a four-day Matchweek 1 that features Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea, among others.
Premier League games will once again air across NBC’s platforms in the United States, including NBC, USA Network and Peacock.
Premier League 2026-27 Opening Weekend Starts With Arsenal
Arsenal gets the first opportunity to take the field after winning last season’s title, but several of the Premier League’s biggest clubs won’t have to wait long to begin their campaigns.
Saturday’s schedule includes five matches, beginning with Manchester United traveling to face newly promoted Hull City at 7:30 a.m. ET on USA Network.
Everton hosts Crystal Palace at 10 a.m. ET, while Ipswich Town faces Sunderland and Nottingham Forest hosts Leeds United in the same window. Brentford and Tottenham finish Saturday’s action at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Manchester City and Liverpool headline Sunday’s schedule. City hosts Bournemouth at 9 a.m. ET before Liverpool travels to Newcastle for an 11:30 a.m. ET kickoff.
Chelsea gets the final spot of Matchweek 1, traveling to Fulham for a Monday afternoon matchup.

Premier League Schedule Features Major Rivalries Ahead
Opening weekend starts a season that includes several high-profile matchups over the coming months.
Arsenal and Chelsea are scheduled to meet on September 5, followed one week later by the Manchester derby between Manchester United and Manchester City.
Liverpool hosts Manchester City on October 10 before facing defending champion Arsenal on October 31. Liverpool and Manchester United meet on November 21.
The end of November brings another major weekend. Arsenal hosts Manchester City on November 28, while Everton and Liverpool are scheduled to play their derby on the same day.
December includes Tottenham-Arsenal on December 5 and Arsenal-Manchester United on December 19.
The rivalries continue into 2027. Manchester United hosts Liverpool on January 23, followed by Manchester City-Arsenal and Liverpool-Everton on January 30.
Manchester City and Manchester United meet again on March 20, while the closing weeks of the season feature Arsenal-Tottenham and Newcastle-Sunderland on May 1 before Manchester City hosts Liverpool on May 8.
