Some Pokemon GO players believe they are banned from the game because they can never log into their account. However, this may be a bug in the game and not necessarily a ban. Some trainers have figured out a fix to the glitch.
Here’s what you need to know.
Many Pokemon GO players are reporting that they seem to be stuck in an “endless login” screen. On Reddit, player MrTopHat7 wrote that he thought he was permanently banned. However, with the help of other players, he was able to fix the problem. If you’re also finding that you can never log into your account, here’s what you may need to do to fix the issue.
On Reddit, player liehon reported that he had encountered an endless login screen that looked like the Pokeball was stuck spinning endlessly every time he tried to log into the game.
He also sometimes got the “our servers are experiencing issues” error message or the “humbled server” error, even when there were no reports of server issues. He discovered that the problem was happening because his Pokemon GO account had somehow gotten desynchronized from his Google account, which prevented him from logging in.
To fix the problem, liehon wrote that he had to remove his Google account and start Pokemon GO again. He was then asked to assign a Google account to his phone. At that point, he entered his original Google account all over again and let it sync to his phone, including contacts, calendar, and the like. At that point, he was able to return to Pokemon GO and the game worked.
Some other players suggest that if you still have a problem logging in after trying the above fix, you can try logging out and creating a Pokemon Trainer Club account. Log in with that account, play for a while, then log out and try logging again with your regular Google account. It doesn’t work all the time, but it fixes the problem sometimes.
Many people who are having the endless login issue are using Android 4.4.4. That seems to be at the heart of some of the problems. If you’re still having trouble after trying the Pokemon Trainer Club trick, Redditor olderdantherealone wrote a more complicated fix here that involves downloading the previous .31 apk and retrying the login multiple times until it stops failing.
