Mahomes (knee) is expected to participate in Kansas City's OTAs, beginning May 26, Nate Taylor of ESPN reports. Mahomes was present for the team's voluntary workouts in April but was still limited solely to rehabbing his surgically repaired ACL and LCL. He'll now progress to the next step in his rehab, as he'll participate in at least some capacity with his teammates during the team's voluntary offseason workouts. While that's a positive step, coach Andy Reid did acknowledge that Mahomes will remain limited. Both Mahomes and the Chiefs continue to publicly state that the goal is for Mahomes to be ready to suit up in Week 1.
Jones (knee) has restructured his contract for the 2026 season to receive $1.5 million, including $1.145 million in guaranteed money, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Jones was originally slated to make $3.7 million, but his salary will be slashed by more than half. He played only three games in 2025 before tearing his LCL, but he should be ready to begin the 2026 campaign.
Tomczak signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent on April 25, Ryan Talbot of Syracuse.com reports. Tomczak set a number of records at Youngstown State during his collegiate career, racking up 225 receptions and at least one catch in 46 consecutive games. He'll have to prove he can reliably separate from coverage as a pro, but he's worth noting due to his strong collegiate production.
Geers signed with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent Monday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Geers played his entire collegiate career with Minnesota and recorded a total of 58 receptions for 518 yards and nine touchdowns. He improved his blocking skills throughout college and is considered a reliable pass catcher, making it possible that he can compete for a roster spot during training camp.
Vera-Tucker (triceps) is expected to take part in the Patriots' upcoming OTAs, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports. New England's OTAs are scheduled to begin in late May, and Vera-Tucker looks like he'll be ready to participate. The offensive guard missed all of last season due to a torn triceps and has played in only 43 regular-season contests (out of a possible 85) across his five NFL campaigns. Vera-Tucker signed a three-year contract with New England in early March and is "highly motivated" to prove himself following his injury struggles, per Daniels.
The Giants have declined Banks' fifth-year option, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. New York had high expectations for Banks when the team selected him in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but the Maryland product has largely disappointed. Banks has managed to stay mostly healthy during his first three NFL campaigns, playing in 45 of a possible 51 regular-season games, but after starting every contest in which he participated from 2023-2024, he logged just six starts over 16 contests last year. Banks appears set to compete for playing time with second-round pick Colton Hood and free-agent acquisition Greg Newsome during the upcoming season.
Mason signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent Friday. Mason is coming off a senior season with Wisconsin during which he caught 30 passes for 398 yards and four touchdowns. Prior to that, he spent his first three campaigns at Missouri State. Mason is 6-foot-3 with reliable hands, but he isn't particularly quick or agile. Seattle's tight-end corps is led by AJ Barner and Elijah Arroyo, and Mason may be headed for a spot on the practice squad.
The Chiefs signed Smith as an undrafted free agent Friday. Smith played four years at Stanford before transferring to Texas A&M for his final two seasons. The running back participated in 24 games for the Aggies, collecting 98 rush attempts for 412 yards and four touchdowns over the span. The Chiefs' offseason signing of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker means they're set atop the depth chart, and Smith will therefore have to fight with multiple other options in training camp to garner a roster spot come final cuts.
