Brandon Lowe: Breaking News

Lowe went 1-for-1 with four walks, one RBI and three runs scored Saturday against the Reds. The Pirates walked 11 times as a team Saturday, with Lowe leading the way by drawing four free passes. He also delivered an RBI single in the first frame, and he was ultimately pulled in the seventh inning thanks to a nine-run lead. Lowe has at least one hit in four of his last five games, going 5-for-16 with two RBI and four runs scored in that span.

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Thursday against the Cardinals. Lowe briefly pulled the Pirates to within one run in the seventh inning with his eighth home run of the season. That marked his first long ball since April 14, a span of 11 starts. After a hot start to the season, Lowe is hitting only .235 with one home run, five RBI and five runs scored across his last 12 games.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers Lowe went 2-for-9 with a double, a run and three strikeouts in the first two games of the series and will hit the bench for the finale. It's likely just a maintenance day for Lowe with a lefty starter (Kyle Harrison) taking the mound for Milwaukee.
