Daniel Jansen: Breaking News

Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates. Jansen will get a routine day off after handling catching duties in the Rangers' previous two contests. Kyle Higashioka will draw the start behind the plate Wednesday.

Jansen is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Mariners on Saturday. It'll be the second time in three days that Jansen will be on the bench, with Kyle Higashioka serving behind home plate and batting ninth while catching pitches from Nathan Eovaldi. Jansen went 1-for-5 with a double and two strikeouts in Friday's 5-0 win over Seattle.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics. Jansen will receive a breather for Thursday's matinee game after he started behind the dish both of the previous two nights. Kyle Higashioka will step in at catcher and form a battery with starting pitcher Jack Leiter in the series finale.
