Devin Sweet: Everything you need to know

Sweet signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Dec. 18. The 29-year-old right-handed reliever previously saw action in the big leagues during the 2023 season, when he made seven total appearances between the Mariners and Athletics. He pitched exclusively at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies organization in 2025, logging a 5.47 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 50:30 K:BB over 52.2 innings.

The Phillies outrighted Sweet to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday. Sweet no longer possesses a spot on the Phillies' 40-man roster, but he'll remain in the organization after clearing waivers. The 28-year-old right-handed reliever has spent the entire 2025 season with Lehigh Valley, logging a 5.50 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB in 37.2 innings.

The Phillies designated Sweet for assignment Thursday. Sweet was let go from Philadelphia's 40-man roster to create room for Matt Manning. Sweet has only seven games logged in the majors, which all occurred in the 2023 season for the Athletics and Mariners. With Triple-A Lehigh in 2025, the 28-year-old has a 5.50 ERA.
