Freddy Peralta: Breaking News

Mets-Rockies contest postponed

Peralta will no longer start Tuesday after the Mets' game versus the Rockies was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up Thursday. Peralta now lines up to take the ball Wednesday, while Christian Scott should be bumped back a day to Thursday.

Settles for no-decision Thursday

Peralta didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Nationals, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out six. A throwing error by Peralta himself prevented two of the runs from being earned, much to the benefit of fantasy managers. The 29-year-old right-hander has been a steady presence in the rotation for the reeling Mets, pitching at least five innings in all seven of his starts thus far, but he has walked multiple batters in six straight outings. Peralta has a solid 3.52 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 42:16 K:BB over 38.1 frames, but he should be tested during a tough matchup in Colorado tentatively set for his next outing.

Allows just two in loss

Peralta (1-3) took the loss Friday against the Rockies, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight in 5.2 innings pitched. It wasn't Peralta's most efficient outing, working through just 5.2 innings on 95 pitches, but it could be argued he still deserved better as he allowed just two runs. The 29-year-old hasn't allowed more than three runs in a start since his first in a Mets uniform, but the run support hasn't been there in that time as he holds a 0-3 record in those starts. The encouraging part was that the strikeout stuff was there for the right-hander as he fanned a season-high eight batters, giving him 36 in 32.1 innings pitched so far. His next scheduled chance to add to those numbers will be Thursday against the Nationals.
