Owen Caissie: Breaking News

Caissie went 1-for-2 after replacing Kyle Stowers in right field during Sunday's loss to the Phillies. With the Marlins down 7-0, Caissie came off the bench to begin the sixth inning in order to give Stowers a bit of a rest. Caissie wasn't in the starting nine Saturday or Sunday due to a stomach bug, but he could be back in the lineup for the series finale Monday against right-hander Aaron Nola. Caissie is slashing .207/.248/.337 through his first 31 games for Miami with two homers and a brutal 42.6 percent strikeout rate.

Caissie (illness) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies. Caissie is on the bench for the second day in a row, after an illness caused him to be scratched from the lineup prior to Saturday's 4-0 win. The Phillies are sending left-hander Jesus Luzardo to the hill Sunday, so Caissie's continued absence from the starting nine might have more to do with the matchup than him being limited by the illness.

Cassie was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Phillies due to an illness, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. With Cassie not feeling well, the Marlins will start Esteury Ruiz, Jakob Marsee and Kyle Stowers in the outfield from left to right for Saturday's contest. Cassie has struggled at the plate since mid-April, having gone 6-for-45 (.133) with three RBI and a 47.9 percent strikeout rate over his last 15 outings.
