With the 2026 MLB season in the rearview mirror, it’s officially award season across Major League Baseball.
Over the next month, all the major individual awards will be revealed.
First up on the docket is the Gold Glove, which was announced on ESPN Sunday evening (11/1).
The New York Yankees had one Gold Glover on their roster, and it is star outfielder Cody Bellinger.

Cody Bellinger Wins 2nd Career Gold Glove
Cody Bellinger winning the 2026 Gold Glove award marks the 2nd time in his career he’s brought home the award. Bellinger has long made a name for himself with defensive versatility, but that versatility transitioned into a full-time role in LF in 2026 with the Yankees. His first GG award came in 2019, the same year he won NL MVP.
MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch wrote (about Bellinger):
“In his second season with the Yankees, Bellinger led all left fielders with +21 Defensive Runs Saved. He displayed exceptional range (+6 Outs Above Average), while his 93.3 mph average arm strength ranked in the 94th percentile of all Major Leaguers.”
Bellinger’s rocket arm was a big reason he was able to cut down so many baserunners on the bases, but his exceptional range and ability to field the gaps were also a major factor.

More on Cody Bellinger’s Career
When you give Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger’s baseball reference a glance, it’s becoming clear that Cody Bellinger is starting to put together a very solid MLB career.
2026 marked Bellinger’s 10th MLB season.
Over that span, he’s a 3X All-Star, MVP winner, Rookie of the Year, 2X Silver Slugger, and World Series champion.
He’s in the middle of a five-year, $162 million contract that keeps him in the Bronx until 2030.
The Yankees (and their fans) certainly hope he can bring a World Series back to New York.
