While Patrick Mahomes remained focused on training camp in Kansas City, Brittany Mahomes and the couple’s three children enjoyed a memorable family getaway to one of their favorite destinations.

Brittany shared a series of photos from the family’s Hawaii vacation, giving fans a look at beach days, Disney character meet-and-greets and several milestones for the Mahomes children. The posts came as Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that Patrick is unlikely to play in Kansas City’s first preseason game as he continues to work his way back from last season’s ACL injury.

Brittany Mahomes Celebrates Family Milestones in Hawaii

For Patrick and Brittany, Hawaii isn’t just another vacation spot. The couple exchanged vows there in March 2022 after previously vacationing on the islands together.

In photos shared on Instagram, Brittany was seen spending time at the beach with daughters Sterling Skye, 5, and Golden Raye, 18 months, along with son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 3.

The family also visited several Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Moana, Stitch, Angel, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip and Dale.

Brittany highlighted two big milestones from the trip.

“Took the kiddos to Hawaii, Bronze decided he’s not scared of mascots anymore and Sterling decided shes not scared of the ocean anymore and Golden…well she’s in her own world 😂,” she wrote. “I would say we had the time of our life🥹🫶🏼.”

Patrick responded to the post with a red heart emoji.

A second Instagram post featured more family moments, including Brittany paddleboarding with Bronze, beach photos of the children wearing traditional Hawaiian leis and additional snapshots from the resort.

The vacation came shortly after Brittany brought the children to Chiefs training camp, where they surprised Patrick during practice.

Andy Reid Says Patrick Mahomes Likely Won’t Play in Chiefs’ First Preseason Game

Back in Kansas City, the Chiefs continue taking a cautious approach with their franchise quarterback.

Mahomes is participating in training camp less than eight months after tearing his ACL last season, and Reid indicated Friday that the team is leaning toward sitting him during next week’s preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams.

“There’s a pretty good chance I don’t play him,” Reid told reporters.

“Percentages are leaning that way. I don’t know if I’ll play him the second or third game, I don’t know that, but the percentages likely lean against doing that.”

Reid explained that the Chiefs want to use preseason snaps to evaluate the quarterbacks behind Mahomes.

“We’ve got new people in those other positions behind him that need some work, and so the more reps they get, the better,” Reid said.

Veteran Justin Fields and rookie Garrett Nussmeier are both new to Kansas City’s quarterback room this season, joining Chris Oladokun behind Mahomes on the depth chart.
