A desperate Kansas City Chiefs team could be willing to do what it takes to get the final piece that’ll push them over the top.

Bleacher Report NFL analyst Mitchel Milani proposed a trade that would help quarterback Patrick Mahomes have the best chance to win a fourth ring.

New York Jets receive: a 2026 third-round pick

Kansas City Chiefs receive: running back Breece Hall

“In his first two years, [Hall] was a per-play, per-carry machine. He is also a really good pass catcher. I could kind of see, stay with me here, some Brian Westbrook in his game if I’m Andy Reid. When I look at the Chiefs’ deficiencies last year, they didn’t have a running back that they could rely on in pass-catching situations. They didn’t have a running back that they could rely on to finish a game,” Milani explained.

“When you think about the running back position, it is typically seen as a cherry on top, but the recent notable change about running back in the NFL is how it has changed teams,” Milani added.

Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers took them from a good offense to an all-time explosive level offense. Derrick Henry went to Baltimore with Lamar [Jackson], and they were the best offense in football last year. Saquon Barkley in Philly won them a Super Bowl. Without Saquon, the Eagles don’t win the Super Bowl; they don’t get there. These great running back talents, Breece, has been seen as a top-eight, top-seven, top-five guy at times during his career. If he can get to that point in Kansas City, that would provide [KC] with a three-down threat who can run and who can catch,” Milani said.

Hall has one year remaining on his rookie contract through the 2025 season.

The Jets’ Perspective on This Potential Trade Idea

This trade makes sense from the Chiefs’ side. There is uncertainty in their RB room. Hall would provide them with an explosive young player who can make plays anytime he touches the football.

These trade ideas involving Hall ahead of the season continue to make no sense for the green and white.

If the Jets are going to trade him, and that is a big if, it’ll happen ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

“Hall’s name surfaced in trade rumors around the draft. It got so loud that Glenn called Hall to put his mind at ease. According to Hall, Glenn told him, ‘I don’t want to trade you. I want you to be here. You’re going to be our running back.’

The Jets want to be a run-oriented offense, so it wouldn’t have made sense to trade their most accomplished back. It could be a different story around the mid-season trading deadline. If they fall out of contention, Hall will be a prime candidate to be dealt. We already know how much Glenn likes [Braelon] Allen and [Isaiah] Davis,” ESPN’s Rich Cimini explained.

There is one way that the Jets would flip Hall ahead of the season. If another team were willing to overpay to acquire him.

Ted DiBiase, better known as the “Million Dollar Man” in the wrestling world, would always say, “everybody’s got a price,” then throw his head back and deliver a maniacal laugh.

The Jets aren’t shopping Hall, but every man has a price, and if another team is willing to meet it, the green and white might be willing to change their tune.

Until then, Hall remains the RB1 of the NYJ.
