Hudson will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Giants, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports. The White Sox haven't officially named a bulk reliever for Saturday's contest, but Erick Fedde had been on turn to start and is the most likely option to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen once Hudson exits the game. Hudson previously served as an opener on April 24 and April 26 versus the Nationals, covering an inning apiece in both of those contests. Expect the lefty to be limited to a one-inning appearance once again Saturday.

Bryan Hudson: Breaking News
Records second save Tuesday
Hudson earned the save Tuesday against the Royals, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning. With Seranthony Dominguez working the eighth inning Tuesday, Hudson got the call in the ninth inning and protected a one-run lead by retiring the heart of Kansas City's lineup in order. The save was his second of the season as he continues an outstanding run out of Chicago's bullpen. Hudson has now tossed 17.2 consecutive scoreless innings while posting a 19:6 K:BB during that stretch. On the season, the veteran right-hander owns a stellar 0.90 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB across 20 innings.
Notches save Monday
Hudson earned a save against the Angels on Monday by retiring the only batter he faced. Chicago trailed for most of the game before making a late comeback. With a three-run lead heading into the ninth inning, manager Will Venable didn't summon regular closer Seranthony Dominguez, who pitched three of the previous four days. Instead, Venable went with Grant Taylor, who was the victim of an inning-opening error behind him and who then gave up a pair of runs while retiring just two batters. With runners on second and third, two outs and Chicago hanging onto a one-run lead, Hudson was called upon to escape the jam, and he was able to do so by retiring Adam Frazier on a groundout. Hudson has had a good season with a 1.38 ERA and 16:8 K:BB through 13 innings, but Dominguez should get the bulk of the team's save opportunities moving forward.
