Martin (3-1) earned the win Friday against the Athletics, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts across seven innings. Martin doesn't possess the best stuff, but he's been able to locate his pitches through four starts and is eating innings for Chicago. Martin has now gone seven innings in back-to-back starts against the Royals and Athletics and has done so on fewer than 90 pitches both times. The 29-year-old lowered his ERA to 2.16 and owns a 19:6 K:BB across 25 innings. Without swing-and-miss stuff, Martin doesn't carry much fantasy upside. He's slated to face the Diamondbacks in Arizona next week.

Davis Martin: Breaking News
Goes seven strong in loss
Martin (2-1) took the loss Friday against the Royals, allowing two runs seven hits and no walks with three strikeouts across seven innings. Martin was terrific again Friday, but Kris Bubic was better, as Bubic fanned a career-high 11 batters across seven shutout innings. Martin's blemishes were an RBI double allowed to Bobby Witt in the fourth and a solo shot given up to Carter Jensen in the seventh. Martin has now posted back-to-back strong outings after he went six shutout frames in a win over the Blue Jays last weekend. Through three starts, Martin owns a 2.50 ERA and 15:7 K:BB across 18 innings. He's lined up to face the Rays at home Thursday.
Goes six scoreless for second win
Martin (2-0) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings. Martin needed just 85 pitches to log a quality start while limiting the defending American League champions to only singles . The 29-year-old has picked up back-to-back wins to open the season, allowing three runs over 11 innings with a 12:4 K:BB. He lines up for a road matchup against the Royals next weekend.
