Leahy allowed one run on six hits and no walks while striking out four batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday. Leahy looked good through four innings, giving up just four hits and no runs. However, he began the fifth by surrendering a run on two hits through three batters, and he was then removed for a reliever. Leahy needed 78 pitches go cover his 4.1 frames, so he probably wasn't going to go much deeper despite the quick hook. The right-hander entered Saturday having gone exactly five or 5.1 innings in eight of his 10 starts, and he's completed six innings just once on the season. Leahy does have a favorable 5-3 record, but his 4.25 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 48:22 K:BB over 55 innings are uninspiring.

Leahy allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight over five innings in a no-decision against the Reds in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader. Leahy notched a season-high eight strikeouts and cruised through four scoreless innings before unraveling in a five-run fifth inning that saw him allow two home runs. It snapped a solid stretch to open May for the 28-year-old, who entered the contest having allowed just two earned runs across 16.1 frames during the month. He'll carry a 4.44 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 42:22 K:BB over 50.2 innings this season into a home matchup against the Cubs next weekend.

Leahy will have his start pushed back after Friday's contest against the Reds was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday, and Leahy will draw a start in one of those tilts. He's collected a 3.94 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 34:20 K:BB through 45.2 innings this season in his transition into the Cardinals' rotation.
