Samuel Peralta: Breaking News

Back with big-league club

The Rockies recalled Peralta from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. Peralta had one appearance with Colorado earlier this season, allowing two runs over two-thirds of an inning against Texas on May 19. He'll now get another chance to show the team what he can do. Righty reliever TJ Shook was optioned to Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

Sent back to Triple-A

Peralta was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday. Peralta will head back to Albuquerque after serving as the Rockies' opener in Tuesday's 10-0 loss to the Rangers, giving up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out a batter and hitting another over two-thirds of an inning. In corresponding move, Blas Castano was recalled from Triple-A to replace Peralta in the big-league bullpen.

Will work as opener Tuesday

Peralta will serve as the opener for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Peralta is lined up to make his first big-league appearance of 2026 after being called up from Triple-A on Friday. He'll be expected to work the first inning or so before making way for the bulk reliever, who looks to be Tanner Gordon, per Harding.
