James Wiseman: Breaking News

Waived by Indiana

The Pacers waived Wiseman on Friday. Wiseman signed a 10-day contract back on Dec. 20, so he won't finish out his short-term deal. He made a total of three appearances during this stint, totaling 37 minutes.

Inks 10-day deal with IND

Wiseman signed a 10-day contract with the Pacers on Saturday. Wiseman was waived by the Pacers in late October, but he'll rejoin the team on a 10-day deal. Per Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star, head coach Rick Carlisle said Wiseman's signing was a result of Tony Bradley's (finger) injury. However, Carlisle acknowledged that Wiseman isn't currently in NBA game shape, which doesn't bode well for the 24-year-old center.

Waived by Indiana

The Pacers waived Wiseman on Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. After tearing his Achilles in Indiana's 2024-25 regular-season opener, Wiseman was traded to the Raptors in February before being waived. The big man re-signed with the Pacers in July, though he'll now have to explore other opportunities. In a corresponding move, the Pacers signed Mac McClung to bolster their banged-up backcourt.
