The Indianapolis Colts‘ top trade chip remains Jonathan Taylor, but another candidate — Daniel Jones — is getting more attention.
According to Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Colts have been receiving calls about their starting quarterback.
Colts Receive Inquiries About Daniel Jones

Per Rapoport and Schefter, “Not only have the Indianapolis Colts engaged in trade discussions regarding running back Jonathan Taylor, they have also done the same regarding quarterback Daniel Jones, league sources told NFL Network and ESPN.
“The Colts have received calls from multiple teams inquiring about trading for Jones, who is slated to start Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, and Indianapolis has been willing to listen to any offers, according to league sources.”
Despite Jones’ sputtering performance this season, Shane Steichen has been vocal about keeping him as their starter.

Things could now be on the verge of a turning point. If Indianapolis is listening to offers, perhaps the organization will find one that meets its criteria.
Jones’ NFL Career at a Glance

This marks Jones’ eighth season in the league, but only his second with the Colts.
His professional career began with the New York Giants after they selected him with the No. 6 pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft.
He spent six seasons with the Giants, but he found himself landing in Indianapolis for his 2025 campaign.
So far this season, he has appeared in eight games and has completed 162 of 268 passes (60.4%) for 1,542 yards.
Along the way, he’s registered five passing touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Where Do the Colts Stand Right Now?

Heading into their Week 9 clash with the Dallas Cowboys, the Colts are riding a grim 2-6 overall record.
This places them second-to-last in the AFC South, just above the Tennessee Titans (1-7).
The Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2) and Houston Texans (2-5) lead the division in first and second, respectively.
Sunday’s kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium — a home game for Indianapolis.

Sitting in the hot seat, the Colts have little time left ot redeem themselves.
A win against Dallas is a much-needed starting spot.
