Dobbins (Achilles) said he feels 100 percent healthy heading into the offseason program, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. "I've had these injuries, and it's been a storm," Dobbins said. "But I think the storm is over with, and I think I'm going to take off now. There's going to be no setbacks, and the 'injury prone' thing will be gone out of the window." Since being drafted in the second round by the Ravens in 2020, Dobbins has missed a whopping 43 games to various significant injuries, including a torn ACL, torn LCL, severe hamstring strain and a torn Achilles tendon. To say the injury-prone label is behind him might be wishful thinking, as his body has yet to cooperate with him to this point. The 25-year-old Dobbins joined Gus Edwards in following offensive coordinator Greg Roman from Baltimore to the Chargers, so he will at least be in a familiar scheme.

Latest Chargers News
J.K. Dobbins : Feels fully healthy
Gus Edwards : Projected lead back
Following the recent NFL Draft, Edwards profiles as the Chargers' lead back as the 2024 season approaches, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. In the wake of the offseason departure of prior lead back Austin Ekeler, the Chargers backfield has undergone an overhaul, with Edwards and J.K. Dobbins -- both former Ravens -- arriving via free agency and Kimani Vidal through this year's draft, joining returnee Isaiah Spiller, a 2022 fourth-rounder. In that context, Popper suggests that Edwards, who GM Joe Hortiz described as a "bell cow" back in March, is in line to get the bulk of the team's work out of the gate this season as Dobbins bounces back from his Achilles' injury and Vidal and Spiller make their cases to carve out complementary roles in the Los Angeles offense.
J.K. Dobbins : Should be ready for training camp
Dobbins (Achilles), who agreed to terms with the Chargers on Thursday, "should be" ready for training camp according to GM Joe Hortiz, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network relayed last month that Dobbins -- who suffered a torn Achilles in Baltimore's regular-season opener in 2023 -- has been cleared for football activities, with previous reports having noted that the running back had resumed running this offseason. Based on the assessment of Hortiz on Thursday, Dobbins is still working his way back from his injury, but if the 2020 second-rounder is able to return to form, he and Gus Edwards (who also came over from the Ravens in free agency) have a chance to provide an effective 1-2 punch in the Chargers' backfield in 2024 under the guidance of offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who both players worked with in Baltimore.
J.K. Dobbins : Slated to join Chargers
Dobbins (Achilles) is in line to sign a one-contract with the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. A second-round pick of the Ravens in 2020, Dobbins had two of his first four pro seasons cut short due to an ACL tear in 2021 and then a torn left Achilles in Week 1 of the 2023 campaign. In his 24 career appearances, he's averaged a robust 5.8 yards on 234 carries, gathered in 27 of 35 targets for 177 yards and scored 13 total touchdowns. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache penned a letter to NFL teams in late March that Dobbins had received medical clearance to participate in football activities, but his new contract will be contingent on a physical. Once the move west to L.A. becomes official, Dobbins will join forces with former teammate Gus Edwards at the top of the RB depth chart, giving him some sway in fantasy working alongside QB Justin Herbert.
Cameron Dicker : Stays in LA
Dicker re-signed with the Chargers on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Dicker ultimately signed his exclusive rights tender from Los Angeles, which was originally placed on him March 8. The Texas product connected on 31 of his 33 FGAs last season, which was good for a 94 percent conversion rate, while not missing a single PAT. He may ultimately face competition in camp, but Dicker should have the inside track on the team's kicking job in 2024.
Ben Mason : Moves west
Mason signed a contract with the Chargers on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Mason has appeared in one game since being selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Ravens. He'll now get a chance in Los Angeles with his college coach at Michigan, and brother of his former coach while in Baltimore, Jim Harbaugh.
Kristian Fulton : Inks one-year deal with Bolts
Fulton (hamstring) agreed to terms Friday on a one-year contract with Los Angeles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Fulton ended the 2023 season on IR due to a quadriceps injury, but he's presumably fully healthy and ready to get up to speed with the Chargers' defensive scheme as soon as offseason workouts begin. The 25-year-old could be an option to start across from Asante Samuel at cornerback for Los Angeles, but the team will likely be most comfortable with Fulton in a depth role after making further additions to the secondary, either in free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft.
Bradley Bozeman : Moves west
Bozeman is signing a one-year contract with the Chargers on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Bozeman was released ahead of the new league year last Wednesday in a cost-savings move by the Panthers. The veteran offensive lineman started all 17 games at center for Carolina last season, but he also has experience playing left guard. He at least should provide quality depth on the Chargers offensive line, if not earn a starting job in 2024.
