Patrick Wisdom: Breaking News

The Mariners activated Wisdom (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday. Wisdom was shelved for the last month of action with a left oblique strain but has been deemed ready to roll after playing eight rehab contests with Triple-A Tacoma. The 34-year-old is likely to serve primarily in a reserve role for Seattle.

The Mariners placed Wisdom on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left oblique strain, retroactive to Wednesday. Wisdom may have picked up the injury during his last outing Tuesday against the Padres, when he struck out in his lone plate appearance. Wisdom is eligible to be activated from the IL in late April, though oblique injuries tend to take more time to recover from. Rob Refsnyder (personal) was activated from the Mariners' paternity list in a corresponding move.

The Mariners selected Wisdom's contract from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday. The 34-year-old joined Seattle as a non-roster invitee in January after spending the 2025 campaign playing in the Korea Baseball Organization, and he'll get a look in the majors with Rob Refsnyder going on the paternity list. Wisdom has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign at Tacoma with nine homers and a 1.145 OPS in 15 games. He isn't likely to see significant playing time with the Mariners but could see some action against left-handed pitching.
