Peralta announced his retirement from professional baseball on his Instagram account Wednesday. Peralta didn't play anywhere in 2025 outside of a brief stint in winter ball, and he's decided not to pursue a contract for 2026. The 38-year-old retires after having slashed a healthy .278/.335/.448 over parts of 11 major-league seasons for four different teams. Peralta won one Silver Slugger and one Gold Glove.
