Former Red “Power Ranger” Ricardo Medina Jr., 36, has been arrested for allegedly killing his roommate, Joshua Sutter, with a sword on January 31, 2015. He was booked for murder at the Palmdale, California, Sheriff’s Station on February 1 and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

Here’s what you need to know about Medina and the death of his roommate.

1. Medina Called the Police to Report It

Medina called the police to report a stabbing in his home on the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road in Palmdale, California.

Palmdale is north of Los Angeles.

2. Sutter Allegedly Chased Medina

According to police, a fight had broken out between Medina and Sutter. Cops say Sutter chased Medina and his girlfriend into their room and then forced their door open. Medina then stabbed Sutter in the stomach with a sword kept he next to the bedroom door, according to police.

Sutter died at the hospital. According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the fight took place around 3:50 p.m. and Sutter died a short while later.

3. He Was the Red Samurai Ranger

Medina was the Red Ranger on Power Rangers Wild Force in 2002. He went on to play the character Dekker on Power Rangers Samurai.

Since his Power Ranger days, he went on to appear in other TV shows like ER and CSI: Miami. He was also on VH1’s reality show Kept.

4. He Was Working as a Stripper

Not landing much acting work, Medina has been working as a member of The Hollywood Men, a group of male strippers, since 2011.

5. He’s at Least the Second Actor From ‘Power Rangers’ to be Arrested for Murder

Medina follows Skylar Deleon, convicted of murdering Tom and Jackie Hawks of Prescott, Arizona, in the latest Power Ranger murder scandal. According to Fox News:

Prosecutors say … a teen actor in a “Power Rangers” TV series feigned interest in buying the couple’s yacht and killed them during a test cruise in 2004.

Deleon overpowered them on a test cruise, tied them to an anchor and tossed them into the Pacific Ocean as they begged for their lives, according to the prosecution.

After the yacht killings, the prosecution said, Deleon and his then-wife Jennifer Henderson scrubbed the boat clean with bleach wipes in Newport Harbor.

Deleon played Roger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1994. He has been sentenced to death.
