Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah: Everything you need to know

The Browns placed Owusu-Koramoah on the reserve/PUP list Friday. Owusu-Koramoah sustained a serious neck injury last October against the Ravens. The linebacker's NFL future was called into question due to the nature of the injury, but a move to the reserve/PUP list instead of a release is a good sign that his playing days may not be over quite yet. No timeline has been given for Owusu-Koramoah's potential return, however, so his career may still hang in the balance.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that it is unlikely that Owusu-Koramoah will play in the NFL again due to a neck injury he sustained in October of 2024. Owusu-Koramoah sustained a serious neck injury that season while attempting to tackle running back Derrick Henry, which resulted in the former being carted off the field. Owusu-Koramoah was sidelined for the entire 2025 season, and it appears as though the injury will prevent the 2021 second-rounder from playing another NFL snap. If that is the case, he would end his NFL career with 308 total tackles, including 8.0 sacks, 17 pass defenses (three interceptions) and six forced fumbles across 49 regular-season games, along with a Pro Bowl selection in 2023.

The 2021 second-round pick from Notre Dame missed the Browns' final nine games in 2024 due to a neck injury, and it now appears he'll miss all of 2025 as he continues to recover. Owusu-Koramoah has been one of Cleveland's most impactful defenders over the past two seasons, recording 162 total tackles, including 6.5 sacks, nine passes defended and two forced fumbles across 24 regular-season games. With the 25-year-old expected to be sidelined for the entire season, 2019 first-round pick Devin Bush is projected to step in and serve as one of the Browns' top insider linebackers.
