Latest Knicks News
Mitchell Robinson : Not yet cleared for practice
Robinson (ankle) has not been cleared to begin basketball activities, with coach Tom Thibodeau noting that the big man is only shooting thus far, Steve Popper of Newsday reports. Robinson' troublesome left ankle, which was most recently surgically repaired in May, continues to yield a slow return to action, although no setbacks have been reported. Robinson's game is solely dependent on his athleticism and movement skills defensively, so a comprehensive increase in on-court reps will be needed prior to estimating his return.
Precious Achiuwa : To start practice soon
Achiuwa (hamstring) is expected to be cleared to practice at some point during the Knicks five-game road trip that begins Wednesday, Steve Popper of Newsday reports. Achiuwa hasn't practiced since suffering a hamstring strain during the preseason, but he appears to be close to resuming basketball activities. Still, the 25-year-old shouldn't be expected back until December, at the earliest.
Miles McBride : Remains out for Wednesday
McBride (knee) will remain out for Wednesday's game against Phoenix. McBride will now miss four consecutive games, which is starting to become a little concerning for the Knicks because prior to his absence, he was a key contributor among the bench unit, averaging 10.7 points, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks over 26.3 minutes. After getting over an illness, McBride sustained inflammation in his left knee that will continue to keep him out through at least Wednesday night. His next opportunity to suit up will be Saturday against the Jazz.
Cameron Payne : Shines in expanded role Monday
Payne racked up 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-6 3Pt), two rebounds and seven assists over 23 minutes during Monday's 134-106 win over the Wizards. Payne scored a season-high mark Monday, and the 23-minute output was also a direct reflection of the blowout nature of the game as New York cruised to a 28-point win. Payne is finding ways to remain productive and has scored in double digits in three of his last four outings off the bench. However, he's still not playing enough to be valuable in fantasy as anything more than a potential streaming option. Regardless, Payne should continue to operate as the primary backup point guard until Miles McBride (knee/illness) is cleared to suit up again.
Karl-Anthony Towns : Double-doubles in 25 minutes
Towns recorded 24 points (8-14 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 12 rebounds and three assists over 25 minutes during Monday's 134-106 win over the Wizards. Towns needed only 25 minutes to record his fourth consecutive double-double -- and 11th over the last 12 games. Even though Towns has struggled defensively at times, his two-way impact can't be overlooked. He's averaging 27.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and a combined 1.8 steals-plus-blocks in nine outings in November.
Jalen Brunson : Bounces back in win Monday
Brunson had 26 points (9-15 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound, 11 assists and one steal across 30 minutes during Monday's 134-106 win over the Wizards. Brunson had a rough showing in Saturday's win over the Nets, but the star floor general bounced back admirably Monday. Aside from shooting the ball drastically better, Brunson also recorded a double-double in back-to-back games for the first time in 2024-25. He has had three double-doubles in his last six appearances while averaging 25.0 points, 8.5 assists and 3.5 boards per game in that stretch.
Miles McBride : Out again Monday
McBride (illness/knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Wizards. McBride missed the previous two contests due to an illness, but he's now being listed with left knee inflammation, which he had been playing through before the aliment sidelined him for the first time this season. Fantasy managers should consider him questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns. Cameron Payne will likely continue to absorb the backup point guard minutes in the meantime.
Karl-Anthony Towns : Fills stat sheet in return Sunday
Towns closed Sunday's 114-104 win over the Nets with 26 points (10-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal across 30 minutes. Towns returned to the hardwood after a one-game absence and posted an impressive stat line, leading the Knicks in points and rebounds while ending second in assists behind Jalen Brunson's 10. Towns has been excellent with his new squad and has recorded 10 double-doubles in his first 12 games with New York. The star big man is averaging 28.4 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game since the beginning of November.
