Dortmund vs. Bayern Preview

Borussia Dortmund earned a spot in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup after finishing second in the Bundesliga last season. The match usually features the Bundesliga winners taking on the DFB Pokal champions, but Bayern Munich won both competitions.

When a scenario like that happens, the second-placed Bundesliga team gets the nod to face the double winners. The Black and Yellows finished with 73 points last season, but they were still behind by 16 points to Bayern.

It was another dominating campaign for Bayern, winning the Bundesliga for the 13th time in the last 14 years and their 35th overall. Dortmund, on the other hand, have not won the league since their back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 under Jurgen Klopp.
