The Phillies optioned Hoffman to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday. Hoffman made one appearance during his most recent stint with the big club, getting charged with one run over 1.1 innings. He's exiting the active roster in order to make space for Aaron Nola's return from paternity leave.

The Phillies recalled Hoffman from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday. Hoffman made a couple relief appearances for the Phillies earlier this season, allowing one run with a 2:1 K:BB over 3.1 innings. He will likely be on the roster only for a few days while Aaron Nola is on paternity leave.

Hoffman was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after Thursday's doubleheader against the Giants. Hoffman was added to the major-league roster ahead of the team's doubleheader versus San Francisco. He tossed two innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk while striking out a batter in the team's 6-5 extra-inning win in the nightcap. Hoffman has now pitched 3.1 innings, allowing one run while striking out two over two appearances with the Phillies this season.
