Jake Shields suspended 30 days

All 24 fighters who competed at Saturday night’s “UFC Fight Night 25” have received medical suspensions, though only four will be out for longer than seven days.

Included in the list of the 20 fighters who were given the short seven day layoff are Jake Ellenberger, who defeated Jake Shields in the main event of the evening, Court McGee, Erik Koch, and Alan Belcher. All four earned victories on the main card, which was televised live and free on Spike TV in the 9 p.m. ET time slot.

Meanwhile, the four fighters that were given lengthier suspensions are Shamar Bailey, Lance Benoist, Jason MacDonald and the aforementioned Shields. Bailey and Benoist will be out for 60 days due to facial trauma and stitches, respectively. Shields and MacDonald have been given 30 day suspensions due to their technical knockout losses.

“UFC Fight Night 25” took place on September 17 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event drew 7,112 fans to the arena for a live gate of $685,000.
