UFC 152 medical suspensions revealed

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and nine other fighters from UFC 152 this past weekend have been issued medical suspensions.

Jones was issued an indefinite suspension and can be cleared by a physician after an X-ray of his right arm, which top contender Vitor Belfort attempted to tear off in the first round of their main event contest.

Belfort, meanwhile, was issued a 30 day suspension due to a laceration.

UFC flyweight contender Joseph Benavidez was given the same amount of time for the same reason following his loss to Demetrious Johnson in the evening’s co-main event. Johnson, on the other hand, avoided a medical suspension altogether and, more importantly, earned the 125 lb. title to become the promotion’s first-ever flyweight champion.
