Aaron Wiggins: Breaking News

Wiggins is not in Oklahoma City's starting lineup against Phoenix for Game 1 on Sunday, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports. Wiggins started in each of the Thunder's final two games of the regular season as the team opted to rest its starters with the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference locked up. Wiggins will revert to a bench role for Game 1 and should see a fair amount of playing time in the postseason, even if the Thunder's playoff rotation shrinks.

Wiggins ended with 13 points (5-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and three steals across 25 minutes during Friday's 127-107 loss to the Nuggets. The Thunder were down most of their routine starters, so Wiggins entered the starting lineup for the first time since the 121-92 win over Brooklyn on March 18. With Oklahoma City getting ready for what the team hopes will be another deep postseason push, Wiggins might see more action until the end of the regular season. However, the 27-year-old likely won't receive as many scoring opportunities or stable playing time during the playoffs, assuming everyone on the roster can stay healthy.

Wiggins isn't part of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Washington, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports. Wiggins made a spot start Thursday, but with Isaiah Hartenstein back in action Saturday, Wiggins will move back to the second unit. The 27-year-old logged 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Thursday's start.
